Add-On Association

Natural Solutions - Wednesday, January 06, 2016

When you go to a fast food restaurant and order a hamburger, what's the first thing they do? They offer you an add-on by asking if you'd "like fries with that." Did you know you can do the same thing within Natural Order via Add-Ons?

Now let's say you tell the clerk, "Yeah, I'll take the fries" but then your wife nudges you in the ribs and asks, "Honey, shouldn't you get a salad instead of all that greasy, fatty food?" Well, we've got two issues here, so let's address the most important one first: don't ever ask your wife that same question. You can think it, just don't say it.

Now for the second issue: if you're the clerk and this happens, that means you need to delete both lines - the burger AND the fries. Wouldn't it be nice if you could just delete the hamburger and the add-on fries would also be deleted? In Natural Order you can, by turning on "Add-On Association" in your System Defaults screen.

These features allow you to tie multiple items together, creating additional sales opportunities through order entry. At the same time, removing the original item from the order will also remove any associated add-ons.

And if you do end up getting a salad instead of the burger and fries, that could be called several things but in keeping with the Natural Order theme, we'll just call it a substitution.
