Cyberquery System Requirements

Cyberquery is a multi-tiered suite of data analysis tools that results in a comprehensive Business Intelligence solution for SX.enterprise users. Cyberquery provides native support PROGRESS versions 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 as well as many popular databases as well as other file structures as well as ODBC.

Below are typical minimum configurations for the Cyberquery Report server and workstations. Because technology changes quickly and usage patterns vary, not all items may be shown - please consult with your hardware source for recommendations.

Cyberquery Wokstation

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7
  • RAM: 512mb or more
  • Networking: 100mbps (or better) Ethernet recommended

Cyberquery Data Analysis Server

  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or newer --OR-- Industry standard UNIX
  • Databases Supported: PROGRESS, Microsoft's SQL, MySQL, ORACLE, Sybase, Informix, DB2, flat files, C-ISAM, Micro Focus COBOL, AcuCOBOL, and other databases via ODBC (some databases may require additional licenses)
  • RAM: 2GB or more
  • Disk: 10GB or more (transient data, queries, and results are stored on this server)
  • Backup: strongly recommended
  • Networking: 100mbps (or better) Ethernet recommended
  • Un-interruptible Power Supply always recommended

The configuration for this server is heavily dependent on your usage patterns and the overhead of activity resulting from other applications utilized on your server.

Most Cyberquery users run Cyberquery directly against their production database. Data warehouses and datamarts are not necessary because Cyberquery is finally tuned to run in a very efficient native mode with most popular databases. This native mode does not utilize ODBC and results in extremely fast runtime speeds and with very low system overhead requirements.
